Take It In
An iOS app that turns flights into cinematic, offline, chaptered journey stories.
Cover page
Take It In transforms a flight into a cinematic, chaptered audio journey built around the route you are actually flying. The idea is simple: enter a flight, download the story before takeoff, and experience the landscape below through narration, visuals, and map context while offline at altitude.
This page is a hosted copy of the public cover page for takeitin.app while the standalone service is paused.
It is only the product-facing overview.
How it works
- Enter your flight number and date.
- Generate a route-aware journey with chapters, landmarks, scenic context, and narration.
- Download the full package before takeoff.
- Play the experience offline while flying.
Designed for the window seat
- Offline-first playback: the full journey lives on the phone after download.
- Audio-first narration: each chapter is written for the route and paced for the flight.
- Route and chapter map: the app shows progress, upcoming chapter markers, and location context.
- Window-side hints: prompts such as "look left" or "look right" help connect the story to the view.
- Scenic imagery: visuals support the narration when the view is blocked by clouds or distance.
The experience
Take It In is meant to make ordinary air travel feel less like waiting and more like noticing. It treats the flight path as a story structure: deserts, mountains, rivers, cities, islands, and coastlines become chapters that unfold as the aircraft moves.
The app is especially tuned for travelers who love the window seat, families who want a calmer in-flight experience, and anyone who has looked down from an airplane and wondered what they were seeing.
Current status
Take It In is an active iOS app project.
The original product domain is takeitin.app, but the public cover page is now mirrored here on dustingamble.com while the standalone server is temporarily offline.
